As well as being one of the world’s finest jazz flute players, Eddie is also renowned as a composer. His work covers a huge stylistic range from contemporary music (“Windgames” for solo piano, “Bright, Towards Heaven’s Descent” for oboe, harp and string quartet, “The Status Quo” for 11 saxophones) to pop (he co-composed several memorable songs with Ibiza stars A Man Called Adam) to jazz (Loose Tubes, Eddie Parker’s Mister Vertigo, commissions for Saxtet, Jazz Umbrella and many more) to synth exotica (with Will Gregory Moog Ensemble). He has written for everything from solo instrument to orchestra; he has added to the repertoire of the flute, including quartet and larger ensembles; and has also written many songs.
